Mr. Ronald Bruce Roark, age 84, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born in Nashville, TN and was a son of the late Earl Raymond Roark and Mattie Belle Adcox Roark. Mr. Roark was an Evangelist for the Church of Christ and worked in mission fields having served much time in Russia and Africa. Ronald was a member of Cason Lane Church of Christ. He served our country in the United States Army and later in the Air National Guard. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Nelson Roark.
Ronald would often get his rest by watching movies, especially older ones including Westerns. He had a strong appreciation for music. Above all, in earthly things, he loved his family and spending time with them (including cooking).
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mrs. Elaine Isom Roark of Murfreesboro, TN; children, Julie Elaine Roark of Murfreesboro, TN, and Gregory Bruce Roark of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters, Miriam Roark Shoaf of Beaumont, TX, and Meredith Roark Childress of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Robert Earl Roark of Knoxville, TN.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 12 Noon on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Mr. Johnny Felker officiating. Interment will follow at Eady Cemetery in Marshall County, TN.
For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to causes for which Ronald advocated; providing Bibles and Bible lessons to Christians in SE Africa or providing benevolence for needy saints in SE Africa or Venezuela. If interested, please ask the family to provide information as to how to contribute to these causes (through a fund or a church indicated by them).
