Ronald D. Bryer passed away suddenly on October 20, 2025, at the age of 88. He leaves behind fiancée, Maureen Kliman, who was the love of his life and with whom he shared over 40 years of adventures and ordinary moments. Ron was a son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, cousin, and uncle, and will be remembered as a storyteller who was about as active as anyone could be. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, pilot, skydiver, ice diver, scuba diver, and overall adventurer who was happiest walking through the woods or fishing from a boat.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Frances; his eldest son, Jeffrey; and his eldest brother. Jack (Carrolton, Texas). He is mourned by his younger brother, Tom (Sycamore, Illinois). Left to cherish many memories of life together are his four children, Greg Bryer, Cheryl Anderson (Joe), Kristi Amenda (Ray), and Angie Welty (Joe); and grandchildren, Bobby Bryer (Karmen), Kaitlyn Amenda (Dalton Feehan), Megan Amenda (Nathaniel Huss), Zachary Amenda, Nicholas Amenda, Emily, Elim, Jane and Seth Welty. He will also be remembered by three great-grandchildren, Paige and Hunter Bryer, and Ella Amendahuss.
Also very important to Ron were Maureen's children, Steve Brawner (Jan), Ken Brawner (Yvonne), Patty Kliman Slack (John), Bill Kliman (Rhonda), Bob Kliman (Robin), Vicki Kliman Derrickson (Mike), and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Honquest Family Funeral Home - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd. Loves Park, IL, 61111, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
