Ronald R. Buehler

Ronald R. Buehler, 84, of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025. He was born on September 22, 1940, in Fremont, OH, to Richard W. and Dorothy L. (Bunning) Buehler.
Ron graduated from Salem-Oak Harbor High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University, where he was a member of Delta Theta Sigma Fraternity. On September 9, 1961, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Lorenzen. They shared over 63 wonderful years together before her passing on February 21, 2025.
After college, Ron worked in the lab at the Eckrich Company in Fremont, OH, and later as a fieldman for the H.J. Heinz Company. A lifelong farmer at heart, he partnered with his brother Kenneth in running Buehler Brothers Farms & Fishing. He later owned and operated Area Pestex Pest Control before retiring.
Ron was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Oak Harbor and participated in church-led mission trips in support of Habitat for Humanity. He served his community for many years as a Salem Township Trustee and represented the township on the Portage Fire District Board. He was especially proud of his work maintaining Salem Township Cemeteries, where he personally planted saplings from his farm to enhance the landscape.
Civic involvement was a cornerstone of Ron's life. He was a past member and past president of the Oak Harbor Rotary Club, a past member of the Oak Harbor Lions Club, and formerly served as an assistant with Robinson-Walker Funeral Homes in Oak Harbor. His generous spirit and passion for service left a lasting mark on his community.
Ron is survived by his daughters, Kim (Bob) Wistinghausen, Sherrie (Jim) Bodi, and Trudy Buehler; grandchildren, Kyle (Nicole) Bodi, Megan Wistinghausen, Klay (Tamera) Bodi, and Jacob (Stephanie) Wistinghausen; and great-grandchildren, Savannah, Elaina, Addilyn, and Jack. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth (Judy) Buehler, and "bonus daughter," Daphne Linzell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty.
Funeral services for Ron will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, OH, with Pastor Kyle Timmons officiating. Visitation will take place from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service. Interment will follow at Salem Township Union Cemetery in Oak Harbor.
