Funeral services for Ronald Eugene Cagle, 80, will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. A burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mooringsport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be the Reverend Josh Cagle.
Ronald was born on January 13, 1944, to Harold Eugene Cagle and Violet Jewel Roe in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, and passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Mr. Cagle was a graduate of Northwestern State University where he majored in Industrial Arts. Upon graduating college, he worked for Ralph Kiper and Associates for 40 plus years before retiring as an architectural draftsman. He enjoyed annual trips to the beach with his wife, Sandy. They regularly attended the Simple Church.
Mr. Cagle was an avid outdoorsman and had a love for hunting. As a member of the Caddo Hunting Club, he enjoyed spending weekends at the deer lease. He raised his sons to enjoy the responsibility and sportsmanship that came along with hunting and later in life his grandsons. If he wasn’t at his house, on the lake, or the deer lease, he could often be found at Bass Pro Shops or Wal-Mart. He was a man of few words but when he spoke you had better listen because what he was about to say would be good life lessons. Mr. Cagle was a patient, kind, and loving man who loved his family and friends.
He later became known as “Bumpa” to all his grandchildren and he loved spending time with them. He enjoyed many trips to Burger King with Noah. He had a special love for teaching and helping Caden with 4-H shooting sports. He loved spending his time at the deer lease riding Corban around on the 4-wheeler and affectionately referred to Reid as “Trouble 2”.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Carolyn Dianne Cagle (Momma); his father, Harold Eugene Cagle and his mother, Violet Cagle.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sandy Duesi Cagle; brother, Cary Cagle; sons Ronnie Cagle and Josh Cagle and wife, Carrie; daughter, Ashley Boggs and husband Bo; daughter, Rae Lynn Adcock and grandsons, Noah, Corban and Reid Cagle and Caden Boggs.
Honoring Mr. Cagle as pallbearers will be Ronnie Cagle, Doug Cagle, Noah Cagle, Bo Boggs and Caden Boggs. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Corban Cagle and Reid Cagle.
