Ronald Madison Campbell, 89, of Bartlesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Ronald was born August 21, 1936, in
Lyons, Kansas, to Robert Madison and Helena Berdell (Pyle) Campbell. He was raised in Chase, Kansas, until 1941, then the family moved to the Fish Creek community and resided there until his death. He graduated in 1953 from College High School in Bartlesville and then attended Oklahoma A&M College, studying Automotive Engineering. He earned his associate's degree. Ronald married the love of his life Mary Ruth Campbell on October 9, 1964, at Silver Lake Baptist Church. Ronald was an automotive machinist for more than 50 years before he retired. He had been a member of the National Hot Rod Association and the National Street Rod Association. He loved hot rod cars, owning and racing for 10 years as a drag racer.
While serving as a Staff Sergeant in the ROTC at Oklahoma A&M College, he was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky; Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma; Fort Chaffee in Arkansas; and at the Bartlesville Reserve Center as an instructor for Howitzer Gun Unit. While at Fort Chaffee, he earned numerous awards for his artillery efficiency with the Howitzer Gun.
Ronald was a member of the Nowata Historical Society and served on the Oglesby Cemetery Board. He always had a smile on his face and he will be truly missed.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife Mary Campbell.
He is also survived by his cousin-in-law, Ronnie Coleman; angel daughters, Carrie Taylor, Sherry Richards and husband Gary, and Michele Holliman and husband Dave; double cousin, Dean Campbell. He also was blessed with honorary sons, Larry Davidson and wife Donna, Rodney Grindle and wife Margaret, and Corey Hough and wife Joey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helena Campbell.
Ronald's family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 4201 Nowata Road,
Bartlesville, OK 74006, 918-333-7665. Come and go visitation will also be held from 12-5 that same day.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2026, at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel with Mr. Lonnie Schutz officiating. Burial will follow at Oglesby Cemetery.
