Ronald Capps Obituary

Ronald Coleman Capps was born on April 26, 1943, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, and departed this life on March 4, 2025 in White House, Tennessee. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

Ronald was known for his kind and loving nature, characteristics that he extended to everyone around him. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, allowing his wife, Judy Capps, to stay home and care for their children. His commitment to family was unmatched, and he took immense pride in being a husband, father, and granddad. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in every moment spent with them.

He faithfully served the Lord as a deacon at First Baptist Church Ridgetop for many years, demonstrating his deep commitment to ministry and the church. Recently he transitioned to Orlinda Baptist Church and continued to service his Lord and Savior with the same dedication and passion.

Among his fondest memories were the times spent camping and fishing as a family, those moments emblematic of the shared love and joy they experienced together. Ronald and Judy shared a vibrant and dedicated relationship, famously recalling the time they ran away to get married, a testament to their adventurous spirits and commitment to one another. They supported each other through thick and thin, a partnership that inspired not only their children but also those who had the privilege of knowing them.

He is survived by his children Chris (Susan) Capps and Tracey (Bo) White, as well as his grandchildren: Matthew (Samantha) Capps, Bryan (Courteney) Capps, J.C. (Kari) White, and Autum (Clayton) Tandy. Ronald was also a proud great-grandfather to Austin, Amaraye, Gracie, Collins, Gatlin, Laynee, and Tatum. Furthermore, he embraced his role as a step-grandfather to Crystal Phelps and Steven Phelps and took joy in his step-great-grandchildren: Karson, Koby, Damian, Dixie, Christian, Haley, Aaron and Nicholas.

Ronald is also remembered fondly by his surviving family members, including his stepmother, Jane Capps, and his brothers, Joe (Beverly) Capps and Freddie (Barbara) Capps.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Judy, his sisters Betty Capps and Barbara "Bobby" Capps Roberts, and his parents, Coleman Eugene Capps and Margaret Mabry. The impact he made in the lives of his loved ones will be felt for generations to come.

The family would like to personally thank Taylor Ward for her kindness and compassion as she cared for Ronald. Her devotion to him kindled a friendship and memories that they will carry with them.

Visitation services will be held at Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Springfield, TN. The visitation will span from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on March 9, 2025, and again from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on March 10, 2025, leading into the funeral service at 1:00 PM. A burial service will follow at 2:00 PM in Springfield Memorial Gardens.

Ronald Coleman Capps will be deeply missed, but his gentle spirit and the values he instilled in his family will undoubtedly live on in their hearts.
