Ronald Lee Carr, 82, of Dublin, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025. He was the son of the late Philip B. Carr, Sr. and Ilene W. Carr of Check, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha "Marti" Carr; and brother, Philip B. Carr, Jr.
Ron served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict serving much of his time in Sinop, Turkey as a Radio Transmitter Operator. Upon his return home, he made a career in retail sales and management retiring from Radford University's Barnes and Noble Bookstore. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time outside tending to his yard and flowers.
Survivors include his twin sister, Reba Akers, with whom he shared a very close and special bond; daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Wesley Vest; son, Anthony Carr; and grandchildren, Tya Carr, Breeana Carr, Wesley "Aaron" Vest, Thomas Vest and Erika Vest.
Ron will be interred in a private ceremony with military honors at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery Volunteers, Laying of the Wreaths Program, PO Box 11373, Blacksburg, VA 24062 and/or the Shelia S. Strauss Hospice House in Roanoke, Virginia.
