Michelle Camille Behrman, 51 of Monticello, NY died on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY. She was born on July 31. 1974 to Walter and Lois Behrman, Poughkeepsie, NY.
Michelle attended Arlington Schools and received a Bachelor Degree at SUNY Plattsburgh, NY. She received a Masters Degree in School Counseling at Radford University, Virginia where she received the award for School Counselor.
In 2001 she started her career as a Middle School Guidance Counselor at Liberty Middle School, Liberty, NY. Michelle was a mentor to many of her students, organized PBIS activities for many years and loved being with her students and colleagues. She loved to travel with family and friends, especially going to Italy and the Disney Cruise to celebrate special family birthdays. Last Christmas she traveled to Hawaii with the extended Williams family, a special memory for all of them.
Michelle is survived by her parents, her loving sister Allison Monaghan (Brian), her nephews Michael and William Monaghan, her Life Partner and Soul Mate Reginald Williams and his children Da'Khari, Tylan, Nyasia and Nas'zera Williams to whom she was their "Bonus Mom".
She is also survived by Grandchildren Xyla, Janyla & Kiari Williams, Uncles Gary Goodwin and Edward Walsh. Grandmother Bertha Williams, Father-in-Law Sam Copeland (Belinda), Mother-in-Law Mary Williams, Sisters-in-Law Ashley Williams, Megan Petty (Nick), and Tiffany Williams. Nieces and Nephews MacKenzie and Nick Petty Jr., Donavan, Monique, and Ty'Shaun Williams, Cousins Deborah Ramon (Tom), John Rivera, Jennifer Nichols (Joe), and many other family members and friends and colleagues.
She was predeceased by her maternal Grandparents Louis and Edith Bommicino and Aunt and Godmother Patricia Bommicino. Her paternal grandparents Walter and Edna Behrman, Aunt Virginia Goodwin, Grandfather Simmie Williams Jr., Uncle Frank Rivera and Cousin Patricia Shirley.
The family wants to thank her close friends Suzanne Hanna Buck, Karen Kowalski Braunwart and Suzanne DeSimone who spent days and nights with her at the Hospital and Hospice Residence during her final illness. The extended Williams family and Liberty Middle School Family were incredibly supportive during her final Illness. Both the nurses and staff on 2 North at Garnet Health Medical Center, Middletown, NY and Kaplan Hospice were wonderful, compassionate and very supportive of Michelle and her family
Calling Hours will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Pleasant Valley, NY at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
