Ronald James Carter, of Highland, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2024 while surrounded by his family. He was 85 years old.
Ron was born on June 4, 1939 in Detroit, MI to his parents Clarence (Louie) and Anna (Ann) Carter. He grew up in Redford Township, MI and spent summers on his grandparent's farm in Elsie, MI. Ron was known for his sweet, caring nature and his sense of humor, often bringing laughter to those around him. He was a hardworking individual, dedicating 35 years of service to Ford Motor Company at the Wixom Plant before his retirement.
An enthusiast of cars, golf and Tiger baseball, he also enjoyed collecting coins and anything with his favorite bird, the American Eagle. Ron had a love for country and bluegrass music and was a regular at local restaurants like Dave & Amy's, Big Boys, and D's Cafe. He cherished his daily walks and sitting by Harvey Lake with his beloved dog, Molly.
Son of the late Clarence and Anna Carter, Ron is survived by his daughter, Nadine (Lee) Copp; son, Ronald (Richiel) Fenner; granddaughter, Rebekah Fenner; and brother, Barry (Linda) Carter; also many nieces, nephews, and a community of friends and neighbors. Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Merry Carter; son, Robert Carter; and sister, Sandra Carr.
Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, 48381 on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 3 - 8pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, 48381, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 11am. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service.
Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Highland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are encouraged to Alzheimer's Association, Greater Michigan Chapter, 25200 Telegraph Road, Suite 100, Southfield, MI 48033.
