Bernard Jerome Lamp

Bernard Jerome Lamp, age 78, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Bernard was born on March 27, 1947, at home in Northville, Michigan, to his loving parents, Otto and Helen Lamp. One of eight children, Bernard grew up surrounded by family and strong values that stayed with him throughout his life. He graduated from Northville High School in the mid-1960s and went on to build a long and fulfilling career with Michigan Caterpillar, where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring. Bernard truly enjoyed his work and took great pride in what he did.

Above all, Bernard was a devoted father to his son, Roger Lamp, and a proud and adoring grandfather to his granddaughter, Annika Lamp. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished the time spent with them.

Bernard had a lifelong passion for antique engines and tractors. He was a longtime member of the Greenfield Village Early Engine Club and took great joy in collecting, restoring, and working on his many antique tractors and engines. He had a natural mechanical ability and loved the challenge of diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues. Whether in his workshop or at a club gathering, he was happiest with his hands busy and a project underway.

He also enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. Bernard was known for his great sense of humor, unwavering loyalty, generous spirit, and enduring optimism. He had a way of bringing warmth and laughter to those around him and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bernard is the beloved father of Roger Lamp and proud grandfather of Annika Lamp. He is the cherished brother of Mary Frost and Shirley Lamp; dear brother-in-law of Jerry Sickler; and dear sister-in-law of Patricia Lamp. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Helen Lamp; his siblings John Lamp, Carol Sickler, Robert Lamp, Ethel Lamp, and Richard Lamp; and his brother-in-law, Bill Frost.

Memorial visitation to take place on Friday, February 27 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lynch and Sons Funeral Home in Milford. Funeral Service to begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Aric Manly officiating.
