Ronald Henry Chapman, 74, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, after a long illness.

Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, Ronald was the beloved son of Freddie and Mary Chapman. He dedicated 34 years of his life to serving the State of Georgia as a psychologist at Georgia Regional Hospital, where his compassion and wisdom touched countless lives.

Ronald had a lifelong love of science and science fiction-his favorite pastimes included watching sci-fi movies, discussing new discoveries, and wearing his signature Hawaiian shirts while enjoying boiled peanuts. He was also an avid cat lover whose gentle spirit made him a friend to all creatures.

A devoted husband and father, Ronald was married for 51 wonderful years to his beloved wife, Jacquelyn Susan Chapman, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother Richard Kenneth Chapman and sister Betty Ann Chapman.

Ronald leaves behind his cherished daughter, Amy Rose Chapman, who was the light of his life. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and dear friend to many.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Savannah or the Humane Society of Savannah in Ronald's memory.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Families First Funeral Care Chapel, located at 1328 Dean Forest Road, Savannah, GA 31405.
