Ronald Clark Obituary

Ronald W. Clark

1929 - 2024

Salt Lake City, UT-Ron was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 6, 1929 to Nellie Woodmansee Clark and Farrell L. Clark. He died on February 14, 2024.

Ron had an adventurous child hood and worked at a very young age shining shoes and selling newspapers on street corners to earn enough money to go to the movies. While young boys, he and his brother would sometimes hop a freight train from Salt Lake to Ogden for fun. Ron always enjoyed having a good time and was never afraid of taking chances. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He did not own a bird dog but discovered that his young son and daughter were pretty good at flushing out pheasants. He had a deep appreciation for music and we are so grateful for that. More than anything, he enjoyed meeting people and talking. This asset proved valuable when he was a young man. He became a successful businessman and contractor and owned and operated Clark Roofing Service. He was still getting on roofs while in his eighties.

Ron married Josie Toly in 1948 in Salt Lake City and together they had three children. They divorced. Several years later he met Shirley Carter and they started a beautiful life together in Uintah, Utah.

Ron is survived by his children, Ronald B. Clark (Courtnee Done), Vickie C. Rodman (Jay Gamble), and Carrie Clark. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Amy Mickey (Chris), Matthew Clark, Kalli, Jessie, and Tate Carter and many loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Benny, Lamont and Gene Clark and his wife Shirley.

Dad started to wear out and at age 94 and he told his son Ron, "I guess they've finally taken the ladder away."

Thank you to all our friends and family for their support and to Olympus Ranch and Twin Oaks for their care and kindness and for being good listeners.

In lieu of flowers or donations, spend some quality time with a Senior Citizen.

Rest in Peace Dad. You worked hard and played hard.

The family will have a celebration of life for Ron at a later date.
