Ronald Fay Cochran, age 85, passed away August 12, 2024. He retired from Lucedale Public Works before that he worked for the Mississippi Forestry Commission, the George County Sheriff's office, as the election commissioner, and was a lifelong truck farmer. He also assisted in establishing the Howell fire department and was a member for multiple years. His hobbies included making jelly, going to the stock yard and farmers market, and playing with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be truly missed by his family and all who were honored to know him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lanell Estis Cochran; daughter, Ladena Cochran Rouse; grand-daughter, Morgan Havard; parents, Homer and Lula Bell Cochran; sister, Shirley Cripps.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Roland (Carmon) Cochran, Lenise (Dean) Davidson, and Lanett (Jamie) Dixon; grandchildren, Wesley (Chelsea) Rouse, Wade (Maddison) Rouse, Macie (Reed) Gilmore, Adam Davidson, Audrah Davidson, Kayla (Pejoe) Parker, and Ashley Dixon; great-grandchildren, Camden Cochran, Mayleigh Woods, Harper Woods, Hallie Gilmore, Carter Rouse, Weston Rouse, Emma Davidson, Ryan Davidson, Ciera Parker, Wes Parker, Ransom Rouse, Aydan Rouse, Aylie Cleghorn, and Ava Rouse; sister, Lois Williams; nieces and nephews, Becky Middelton, Creig Williams, Pam Walding, Leta James, Reta Corley, Karen Dykes, Leann Wallace, and Bubby Cripps; numerous other family and friends.
The Visitation will be Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Friday, August 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jamie Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Howell Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers include, Wade Rouse, Wesley Rouse, Aydan Rouse, Jonathan Yates, Pejoe Parker, and Keaton Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers include, Grady Williams, Rufus Parker, Davy Casey and Terry Estis.
