In Loving Memory of Ronald Alphonso Coleman

March 26, 1955 – August 29, 2025

Ronald Alphonso Coleman, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Community South Hospital. Born in Queens, New York, to parents, Yvonne and Arthur Coleman, Ronald was a man of remarkable drive, unwavering dedication, and deep love for his family and community.

After serving honorably in the United States Army, Ronald channeled his boundless energy into mastering the art of jewelry-making. With grit and vision, Ronald founded and operated The Jewelry Doctor, Inc. on East Washington Street, where for over 26 years he built not just a business, but a trusted name and a loyal clientele. His entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by his eagerness to learn and his passion for excellence.

Following the path of service he began with his religious studies, Ronald made multiple trips to Liberia, in Africa, to learn from and to provide assistance to the people he met there. In addition, he organized the shipment of food and supplies to Liberians in need. It has been his honor to provide support and assistance to a young family there, ever since.

Ronald married the love of his life, Anne Jeanette (Curry) Coleman, on June 26, 1992, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Together they built a life rooted in devotion, laughter, and resilience. Ronald was a loving son, a proud father, a loyal brother, and a cherished husband.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Coleman and their child Aden; his mother, Yvonne Trenchard; his children Bobby, Tanisha, Sadiqa, Ronald, and Dustin; his brothers, Glenn "Tony" (Delores) Coleman and Noel (Debora Smith) Early; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Coleman; his beloved daughter, Aurora Coleman; and his brother, Brad Coleman.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, September 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Service, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a celebration of Ronald's life at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors.

Ronald's legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the business he built, and the family he loved fiercely.
