Floyd Coleman

Floyd Coleman, 84, of Stanford, KY passed away peacefully at Stanford Crossing on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Born on January 3, 1942 in Casey County to the late Virgil Coleman and the late Ersie Brown Coleman.

Outside of farming, Floyd had an affinity for the simpler pleasures in life. His hobbies included fishing, singing, and listening to gospel music on the radio. His favorite radio show was the swap n shop, known as the general store on WPBK-FM. Floyd's loved going for chicken dinners and trips to the park with his children when they were younger. He also attended church at Faith Temple in Jesus Name.

Survivors include three sons, Jackie Coleman (Donna), Matthew Coleman and Timothy Coleman; step-daughter, Nora Judd (Robert); one sister, Anna Lee Griffin; three gramdchildren, Steven Coleman, Dylan Coleman and Izayah Coleman; and two step-grandchildren, Shanna Rice and Jacob Judd

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Malicoat Coleman; parents, Virgil and Ersie Coleman; three brothers, Vernon Coleman, Lonzo Coleman and Clifford Coleman; and two sisters, Violet Kidd and Hazel Goode.

A one-day service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, Kentucky.
