Ronald "Ronnie" Corvese

85, of Johnston passed away peacefully at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family on Saturday July 1, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Rebecca "Becky" (Pitocco) Corvese. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carmine and Elizabeth (Lato) Corvese.
Ronnie was self-employed for 45 years as the owner/operator of Corvese's Fruit Stand in Johnston and Corvese's Wholesale Fruit and Produce in Providence. He served in the United States Army and was a proud VA member. Ronnie was a member of the Johnston Lions for many years volunteering his time and supporting fund raising events. He enjoyed horse racing, attending to his vegetable garden, spending quality time at his morning hang out, playing his daily lottery numbers and going to breakfast on Saturday mornings with his friends. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and was so very proud of their accomplishments.
He was the devoted father of Lianne DiMaio and her husband David of Cranston, Ronald Corvese Jr. and his wife Donna of Johnston, and Bethany Clements and her husband Matthew of Johnston. He was the loving grandfather of Morgan, Janet, Rebecca, Carmen and Matthew and dear brother of Carmine "Cal" Corvese Jr. of Johnston, Robert Corvese of South Kingston, and the late Anthony Corvese of Narragansett.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center for the excellent care, professionalism, and dignity extended. Ronnie's last days were filled with kindness and comfort and the family will be forever grateful.
His funeral will be held from the Nardolillo Funeral Home and Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 10am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Rocco Church, Johnston at 11am. Visiting hours are on Thursday morning from 9-10am. Burial will take place at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
