Ronald Dale Dean, age 62, of Buckhannon, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born on March 11, 1963, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Donald Dale Dean and Sylvia Jean Shipman Dean, who survives. On December 19, 1987, he was united in marriage to Carol J. Morrison Dean, who survives. In addition to his mother and wife, he is also survived by one sister Melissa Stimeling and husband Charlie of Buckhannon; one brother Wayne Dean and wife Sheryl of Buckhannon; one niece Heather Dean; two nephews: Cody Dean and wife DeAnna and Clay Stimeling and wife Tiffany; four great nieces; two great nephews; father- and mother-in-law: Joe and Sue Morrison; sister-in-law Edna Pugh and her sons Charlie Cutright and Richard Pugh; brother-in-law Joe Morrison, Jr.; and adopted family: Mike and Kayla Strickland and their children Emma and Mikey to whom he was "Papa Ron". In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a nephew Travis Stimeling and two precious babies born silently to Carol and Ron who are now embraced in his loving arms.

Ron was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Buckhannon. He was recently retired from the WV Division of Highways as the Equipment Manager of District 7. He was a talented bluegrass musician and with his wife was part of the former group "Amazed by Grace" in which he played guitar and upright bass. Camping, fishing, woodworking, and traveling to the Amish Country were favorite pastimes of his, but no matter where his travels took him, he never met a stranger.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 2-5:00 PM, at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be held at the funeral chapel on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park.
