Ronald Kenneth Decorah, 84, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025. Ron was born on July 23, 1941, in Tomah, Wisconsin. He grew up and attended school in Wittenberg, Wisconsin.

Ron joined the Army and served in the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper from 1957 to 1962. Just before he was to head home, the Army decided they still needed him as a radio repairman so off he went to Vietnam.

Ron boxed in the Milwaukee Golden Gloves in 1967. He always told the story about sparring with Muhammed Ali and getting in trouble for hitting Ali in the face.

Ron learned to weld at a young age. He loved welding and after a year of retirement he decided to go back to welding for another two years. He was proud of his work.

He lived with his wife in Black Earth, Wisconsin until they decided to move to Emigrant, Montana, to be closer to the place they loved, Yellowstone.

Ron is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda; his sons, Travis (Sue) of Muskego, WI and Damon (Sarah) of Port Washington, WI; five grandchildren, Monica, Logan, Reece, Toby and Andre and two great grandchildren, Caden and Asher.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Nathaniel Decorah; his grandmother, Annie Decorah; his Mother Theresa; his brother, Stuart; Mother of his children, Sharon Decorah; his daughter, Shawnee Kay and his granddaughter, Jessica.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the American Legion Post 23 in Livingston.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you donate to Yellowstone Forever, Wolf Project, PO Box 1857, Bozeman, MT 59771.
