Kimberly Irene DeCorah, our caring mother, wife, grandma, sister, and daughter, sadly passed away on September 3rd, 2024, at the age of 65. after a valiant battle with heart disease. Even through ongoing health issues, her love and selflessness never subsided, she always made time to help others.
She graduated from Scotia Glenville High School in 1977 and raised her own family in her cherished hometown. In her early adulthood, she worked in marketing at Environment 1 and part-time at Rolling Green bowling alley, where she met her husband, Christopher Decorah.
Kim's professional life was a testament to her caring nature. She dedicated many years as a social worker for the Scotia Glenville school district, where she was fondly known as Mrs. D. Her commitment to children's welfare extended beyond her work, as she also served as the PTA president.
When she wasn't working or spending time with family, Kim's love for the outdoors was a source of happiness. Whether camping under the stars, tending to her vibrant garden, dancing at concerts, or soaking up the sun on a sandy beach, she embraced life with open arms. She appreciated a wide spectrum of music, but nothing beat the Beatles!
Her kitchen was a place of warmth and creativity, where she conjured up culinary delights and crafted holiday magic. Her presence turned a house into a home, and her love for family and friends filled every room with genuine love. She was a proud "GaGa" to her beautiful grandchildren, who meant the world to her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Chris; her loving children, Tyler, Justine, Kyle, and Lindsey; her adored grandchildren, Kaylee, Jameson, and Michael; her brother, Donald; and her mother, Roberta. Her everlasting love will not be forgotten, and she will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are welcome to the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. on Wednesday, September 11th from 4 to 6 PM for calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be to the American Heart Association, 4 Atrium Dr #100, Albany, NY 12205.

I went to Scotia-Glenville High School with Kim. She was one of the nicest girls in the class... very down-to-earth and kind. I am so sorry to hear of this loss. (From Holly Herring)
