Marion Mae Rocco, 93, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on August 9, 2025. Born in Rotterdam Junction, she was the daughter of Louis Mancini and Dorothy Rocco Mancini. Marion is known as "Mimi" to many in the family -- a nickname given to her in childhood by her twin brother, Joseph.
After graduating from Scotia Glenville High School, Marion worked for GE in the ordnance division. On September 18, 1954 she married her forever love, William "Bill" Rocco. They had four children. Family and faith were central to her life. Marion loved to host holiday gatherings for her ever-growing family; there was always space for one more at the Rocco family table. She lovingly and attentively cared for her children and grandchildren. She baked the best cookies and often had a warm batch coming out of the oven just in time for kids to get off the bus or a visitor to arrive.
Marion was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church of Glenville for over sixty years and lived in the same home for more than 68 years. Marion and Bill were avid bridge players and were active in Remove Intoxicated Drivers (RID). A skilled tennis player, she played at Schenectady Racquet Club and medaled at the Empire State Senior Games in doubles tennis with Bill. Her additional hobbies and accomplishments included making wedding cakes for family and friends, teaching cake decorating at the Party Time shop, and gardening.
Marion was predeceased by her loving husband Bill. She is survived by her children: Ann Klotz, Karen Suttie (William), William Rocco (Barbara), and Maria LaTorre (Richard). Marion had eight grandchildren: Peter Klotz (Kim), David Klotz, Marissa DeRossi (Jeff Dainis), Mary Connors (Bob), Steve Rocco, Liviana Miller (Adam), Marco LaTorre, and Adrian LaTorre (Kylee Tourtellot). Her grandchildren blessed Marion with eight adoring great-grandchildren: Chloe, Ella, Thorin, William, Julian, Callan, Owen, and Kaliah. Many nieces and nephews also survive her. The whole family and her special neighbors will cherish memories of Marion's unwavering love and the life lessons she imparted.
Marion's siblings are: Louis Mancini (deceased), Ann Denvir, Joseph 'Buddy' Mancini (deceased), and Rosemarie Sorenson (Don).
Family and friends are welcome to the Church of Immaculate Conception (400 Saratoga Road Glenville, New York 12302) on Saturday, August 16th, from 9 AM - 10 AM for a visitation period. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 AM. After the Mass concludes, interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church or a charity of your choice.
