A celebration of the life of Ron Denis, 59, of Malakoff, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2023, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home, with Bro. Derek Rogers and Chaplain Phillip Moye officiating.
Ron went to his heavenly home on July 15, 2023, surrounded by family after a very long struggle with cancer. Ron fought hard and battled for twice as long as his doctor's first prognosis.
Ron graduated from Malakoff High School, class of 1982, and attended the Cowboy Church of Corsicana. He enjoyed fishing and loved watching his daughter play softball.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Jean Amie and Peggy (Fields) Denis; and his father-in-law, Gary Chandler.
Ron is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jennifer (Chandler) Denis. She found her soulmate following him home one day when she was 15 years old. They met, dated, married, and started a family. Jennifer will follow him home at a date and time to be determined.
He is also survived by his daughter Brianna Denis and her companion Dean Swiney of Trinidad, along with his granddaughter Violet Renae Shough (the light of his life), and Dean's children, Alexis and Ethen; and his youngest daughter, Candace Denis Carter and her husband Cole Carter of Birmingham, Alabama; his brother Greg and Suzanne Price of Houston; his brothers-in-law Tyson Chandler and wife Misty and Dustin Chandler and wife Stephanie, all of Corsicana; and his mothers-in-law, Suzanne Tidmore of Malakoff and Becky Chandler of Corsicana. A man of the Malakoff community, Ron has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his granddaughter Violet Shough's College Fund at the First State Bank of Malakoff.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

May the angels lead him into Paradise. May the martyrs come to welcome him and take him to the Holy City; the new and eternal Jerusalem. May the choirs of angels welcome him where Lazarus is poor no longer. May he have eternal rest. Amen.
