Ronald R. Dion, 74, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away at his home, Wednesday afternoon, February 23, 2022, after a period of declining health.

Born in Nashua on July 27, 1947, he was a son of the late Paul and Gabriel (Lebrun) Dion. Ron was educated in local schools and served with the Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.

Ron had been employed as cabinet maker with Gregg & Sons and their successor Triangle Pacific Cabinet Corporation in Nashua for over twenty years. He later worked as a sheet metal fabricator at Valgra Industries, Inc. in Hudson.

An avid bingo enthusiast, Ron worked and played with many veterans at the Kiwanis Bingo Hall in Hudson and was also a member of the cribbage league at Club National, where he was a longtime member.

In addition to his parents, Ron was the husband of the late Arline Hope (Galligan) Dion, who passed away August of 2006; his son, Ronald R. Dion, Jr.; his brothers, Gerard and Dennis Dion; and sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Thomas Grogg.

Members of his family include his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Rhonda Dion of Nashua; his daughters, Tina Smart of Hudson and Cyndi Godzyk of Hooksett; his daughter-in-law, Katherine Dion of Tyngsborough, MA; six grandchildren, Joshua, Mason and Adrianna Dion, Anthony Smart, Brandon Bishop and Amos Martes; many great-grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Ronny Rodriguez of Nashua; also nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Friday, March 4th from 4 to 7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. Interment will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at a later date.
