Ronald “Ronnie” Durden went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 14, 2023 at his home in Clarkton, NC.
Ronnie worked for Black & Decker for 20 years as a machinist. He left Black & Decker in the late 90’s to pursue his dream of owning and running his own business and Ron’s Hobby Shop was opened. He loved to work on small engines, welding and could fix anything. He went back to work in the mid 2000’s and started his journey with Danaher, where he retired in 2021.
Ronnie loved the outdoors; hunting and fishing were his two passions. Ronnie also loved horses and riding. Ronnie loved his children and his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank and Carolyn Durden and a brother, Donald Durden.
Ronnie is survived by his three children, Nicole McColl (Jonathan) of Rockfish, NC, Frank Durden (Sarah) of St. Pauls, NC and Melissa Durden (Erin) of Garner, NC; two brothers, Richard Durden and Michael Durden; three sisters, Frances Baxley, Beverly Collins and Melanie Durden; three grandchildren, Avery Durden, Dean McColl and Bryleigh Carroll; several nieces and nephews; two best friends, Al Bridgers and Ronald Coley; his beloved horse, Sugar and a host of other relatives and friends.
