Ronald Edge, Sr. Obituary
Townsend Brothers Funeral Home announces the death of Ronald D. Edge, Sr. on March 21, 2024.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Northview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 am until 11:00 AM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Ronald was born in Chester, Georgia on February 6, 1940, to the parentage of Massey S. Edge and Willie Pearl Rogers Edge. He was preceded in death by his parents and also by his in-laws Jack Burch and Mamie Jones Burch. Also preceding him in death was his loving wife of 47 years, Jackie Rose Burch Edge, and his son Ronald Dwight Edge Jr. (Ron).
He is survived by his grandson, Seth (Ashley) Edge; daughter-in-law Tammy; his beloved great-grandchildren, Kairi, Abigail, Oliver, and Madilyn; and his teacup yorkie puppy, who was his constant companion.
Ronald attended Middle Georgia College and Georgia Southern College. After college, he worked for the Bank of Chester helping them secure state charter and federal deposit insurance. In 1969 Ronald was employed by the First National Bank of Houston County, Perry, Georgia. Later he worked for the Bank of Pinehurst, Pinehurst, Georgia, and Morris Bank, Dublin, Georgia.
In 1980 he made a career change and went to work for the Georgia Department of Revenue, Central Audit division. He retired after 20 years of service. After that, he was employed by Tyler Consulting Company, Roswell, Georgia for another 15 years.
He was a former faithful member of Chester Baptist Church, Chester Methodist Church, and First Baptist Church, Perry, Georgia. When moving to Dublin he became a faithful member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ serving as a Sunday school teacher, trustee, and Deacon.
As he often said, "I have had many tragedies in my life but with each one, I sought to become a better child of God."
A special thanks to all friends who have been good to him through the trying times.

The first time that ai had met Mr. Edge was at Krigers I was working self checkout he was in a hurry because his wife Jackie was in the car. He was such a caring and thoughtful man. When his wife passed away he came to me about a puppy. I sold him his teacup Yorkie Jackie which loved and was always with him.He would bring her to the store to see everyone he loved her so much and she loved him just as much. Rest in peace my good friend. Debbie
