Annette Donaldson Johnson, age 90, peacefully passed away on February 11, surrounded by her loving family. Annette was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Van Buron Johnson, and by two daughters, Jewel Johnson and Brenda Johnson. She is survived by her daughter Marquita Hicks (Don), grandchildren Candice Moore of Greenville, South Carolina, Clark Hicks (Hannah) of Irwinton, Georgia, Catie (Bill) Ballard of St. Simons Island, Georgia, great-grandchildren Rivers Moore, Delaney Moore, Willow Cate Ballard, Ellie Hicks, Mason Ballard, Corban Hicks and Sunnie Hicks, brother Garland Donaldson (Genelda) of Soperton, Georgia and sister-in-law Pam Donaldson of Wrightsville, Georgia.
She enjoyed a long and distinguished career in civil service, which included highly specialized service to the Commander of Robins Air Force Base. Annette took great pride in her work and served with professionalism, discretion, and dedication throughout her career. A woman of deep faith, Annette was a faithful member of Dublin First Church of the Nazarene, where she was actively involved in the Terry Soles Sunday School Class and served as director of the senior adult Prime Time group. Known as a devoted prayer warrior, Annette considered it a true privilege to participate in the ministry of intercession, faithfully lifting others in prayer throughout her life. Her heart and greatest joy were found in her family. Her legacy of faith, love, and service will live on through them.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 13, at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:30 P.M. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Clark Hicks, Rivers Moore, Steve Moore, Bill Ballard, Mark Coursey, Henry Donaldson.
