In Loving Memory of Ronald Evans.

On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Ronnie Evans peacefully returned to his eternal home, surrounded by love, with family by his side. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Ronnie entered the world on January 13, 1930, in St. Andrew, Jamaica born to Raynes and Clarissa Evans. He was the ninth of eleven children and grew up in a household full of love, laughter, and mischief and formed strong family bonds that lasted his entire life.

His formative years were spent at Wolmer's High School where his passion for athletics flourished. He enjoyed both cricket and soccer, pursuits that would shape his character with discipline and teamwork. In his quiet moments he was an avid reader and really enjoyed learning about World War II history.

Love found Ronnie when he met Marlene Manahan, and their hearts became one on August 20, 1958, a union that would span over 64 years of devotion until her passing in January 2023. Their love story began at Water Commission in Jamaica, where he dedicated over three decades of his life in different managerial roles. Together they built a life centered on faith, family and hard work. Ronnie and Marlene were blessed with three children: Roger, Deborah, and Michele who became the pride and joy of their lives. He was a very loving father who always provided guidance and support. Ronnie also had a passion for singing and loved serenading his wife and having sing-alongs with his children. He was a proud and doting grandparent to Gabriella and Daniel and one of his biggest regrets was that they did not live closer.

Upon retirement, Ronnie and Marlene moved to Houston, Texas to be close to their children and here they formed many new friendships.

Faith was the cornerstone of Ronnie and Marlene's lives. They were devoted members of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Jamaica and later at St. Helen's in Pearland.

Ronnie is survived by his son Roger and daughter-in-law Nancy Evans, daughter Deborah and son-in-law Stephen Mackay, and daughter Michele and son-in-law Frank Perkins; grandchildren Gabriella and Daniel Perkins; brother John Evans; plus, many nieces and nephews.

Ronnie was a man of quiet strength and enduring love, known for his unwavering support of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
