Ron was born on February 28, 1934 to Walter and Marie who immigrated, separately with their families, from Austria and Germany in the 1920's. They met, married, moved to the Bronx, and had two sons, Ronald and Robert. Several years later they moved to Floral Park Queens.

Ron enlisted in the Army at 19 in 1953 near the end of the Korean War. A few years after returning home, he met his future wife, Doris Seifert of Elmont and they married a year later in 1959.

In 1960, they had their first child, Donna. The next year, with another child on the way, Ron and Doris relocated to the Village of Floral Park. Debbie was born in 1962 and little brother Gary arrived in 1966. Lastly, in 1971 Gregory was born.

In the late 1950's Ron began an apprenticeship in Elevator Union Local 1 and through the 1960's 70's and 80's installed many of the elevators in the high rises built in NYC during the second half of the 20th century.

He took on a second job working nights at Phelps Dodge in Queens. Even with the long hours he worked, he still made time to manage Gary and Greg's Little League baseball teams.

Ron retired in 1990 and enjoyed spending time with his family at their Pocono house until Doris' passing in 1997.

Ron left Floral Park for Oyster Bay in 2003. He enjoyed swimming, bowling, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
