Ronald "Ron" Eugene Gardner, 81, of Bessemer City, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, just days shy of his 82nd birthday. Born on March 11, 1943, in Gaston County, son of the late Roscoe C. Gardner and Ruby Stewart McGar.
Ron lived a life characterized by hard work, dedication, and love for his family.
He proudly served in the United States Army, his time in the armed forces shaped his strong sense of duty and commitment. Ron worked tirelessly to provide for his family, expressing his care and support through his work.
He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Gastonia.
One of his favorite pastimes was to work in his yard and he enjoyed being outside whenever he had a chance.
He will be deeply missed by his family and everyone that knew him.
Ron is survived by his son, Tracy Gardner (Rosana); his daughters, Susan Gardner Salcido, Karen Lopez (Ozzy); sister, Donna Lusher; sisters-in-law, Robin Ledford Gray, Sandy Gardner; grandchildren, Samantha Salcido, Joey Gardner, Arron Lopez (Katelyn); great-grandchildren, Valarie Wilder, Mia Gardner, Jayce Wilder, Tyler Salcido; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frieda Kaye Ledford Gardner, brother, Jerry Gardner; sister, Patsy Hunter.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held 4-7 pm Friday March 14, 2025, at his home, 230 Lewis Farm Road Bessemer City.
