Ronald Gerber Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Life Tributes Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Jan. 21, 2026.
Ronald E. Gerber, age 88, of Granton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Well Nature View II in Marshfield, under the compassionate care of St. Croix Hospice.

Ronald was born on August 3, 1937, in South Milwaukee to Peter and Mildred (Leinen) Gerber. He was raised in Oak Creek and attended Scanlan School, a historic one-room schoolhouse built in the 1860s. He later earned his GED and pursued trade school studies in farming and horticulture. In 1962, Ronald proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving until his honorable discharge.

A man of many talents and interests, Ronald enjoyed fixing and restoring antique tractors, tinkering in the garage, and trucking. He was musically gifted, playing the concertina, steel guitar, and accordion. Ronald had a deep love for polka music and especially cherished attending polka dances.

Ronald is survived by his children, Francine (Michael) Pfeffer and Christopher (Jenny) Gerber; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Raymond (Janice) Gerber, Robert Gerber, Leroy Gerber, and Dennis (Nonny) Gerber. He is further survived by his beloved sweetheart, Arlene Beilke, who provided him with excellent and loving care for many years, and her children, Marianne Taylor, Diane (Ronald) Vine, and James Beilke, who were like family to Ronald and also helped care for him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mildred Gerber; his wife, Annette (Sklander) Gerber; his daughter, Marshelle Gerber; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Elaine Gerber.

Memorial services will be held privately by the family at a later date.
