Ronald Greeson Obituary

Visit the Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. website to view the full obituary.

Ronald Sheldon Greeson, 79, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, October 31, 2025 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He fought a courageous battle for many years. A native of Guilford County, he was born January 11, 1946 to the late William Clarence Greeson and Ruth Maxine Stewart Greeson and was the husband of 59 years to his high school sweetheart, Trudy Gail Overman Greeson of the home.

Ronald served in the US Army for six years and was a longtime member of Brick Church. He retired after 32 years of service from Pitney Bowes as a Regional Trainer where he would make numerous lifelong friends. Many cruises and visits to Florida were taken with his “work family”. He also had many high school friends that would continue to meet for the Breakfast Club and special dinners on Friday nights.

Ronald loved hunting and fishing as a young boy and continued these activities with his friends and family until his health declined. He enjoyed trips to Colorado and Wyoming to deer hunt and many vacations were spent at Buggs Island fishing and water skiing with this precious son Ron, Trudy and other friends. He also had a love for surf fishing while vacationing with his family at Oak Island and Emerald Else.

In addition to his numerous hobbies, Ronald enjoyed flying his RC Airplanes and became a member of BARKS RC Flying Club in Snow Camp where he would develop special friendships along the way. Ronald’s passion for flying would extend to his grandson, Christian who would take flying lessons in which his Papaw was extremely proud. Ronald, Ron and Christian enjoyed flying in Bi-planes at Oak Island.

Most of all, Ronald cherished his relationship with Jesus and his family. He is now resting in peace and is reunited with his precious son, Ron and his Savior, Jesus.

Survivors include his wife, Trudy; grandchildren, Sydney Greeson, Christian Greeson of Charlotte; daughter-in-law, Christine Wright Greeson also of Charlotte; a brother, Bobby Greeson (Shirley) of Burlington and many close friends and special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Douglas Greeson; parents, William and Ruth Greeson; brother, Claude Thomas “Tommy” Greeson and a sister-in-law, Jean Greeson.

A service to celebrate Ronald’s life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Brick Church by Rev. Geoff LaLone with the inurnment to follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence. A reception will follow the inurnment at Brick Fellowship Building with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to AuthoraCare Collective (Hospice) of Alamance County, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at AuthoraCare Hospice for the compassionate care given to Ronald and the family.
