Ronald M. Ham, 66, of Hampton, Virginia departed this life peacefully, Thursday, February 23, 2023, at his residence. He was the son of the late Rollie Ham and Dorothy Ham, of Hampton, VA.
Ronald received his primary school education in the Hampton City School System, Hampton, VA.
Ronald, affectionately known as "Buck" or aka Ronnie, retired as a long-distance truck driver after 25 years. He was also skilled in the brick mason trade as a Master. He was a skilled Masonry Foreman for both residential and commercial sites. Notable projects include the construction of the Salt Ponds Townhouses and he supervised a team that worked on the Hampton Virginia Medical Center and Hampton University.
He is survived by two sisters: Yvonne Hargrove and Rosalind Clark, Hampton, VA, two brothers; Stanley Ham, (Mary), Virginia Beach, VA and Stephen Ham, (Lora), Hampton, VA, three nieces; Alicia Hargrove, Hampton, VA, Taylor Ham, Virginia Beach, VA, Sydni Ham Myers, (Graham), Richmond, VA, one nephew; Dale Ham, Hampton, VA, and one grand-nephew and one grand-niece; Wesley and Willow Sheppard. He was the brother of the late Doris Ham, Michael Ham and Donald Ham.
A memorial service will be March 11, 2023, at Smith Brothers Funeral Home (Chapel), 545 E. Mercury Blvd. Hampton, VA 23663, where the family will receive visitors and friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 with services immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that contributions be made to the American Heart Association in Ronald Ham's name.
