David R. Neill, Sr., 73, of Reinholds and formerly of Lititz, passed away on February 4, 2026.
He was the husband of Jimaline “Jimmy” Markley Hawthorne, to whom he has been married since June 15, 2024. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Jane Ingram Neill.
David worked as the assistant produce manager for Giant Foods in Ephrata for 10 years. He had also been a cook at many local restaurants over the years, being at Brights Restaurant in Ephrata for nearly 20 years.
He was a US Navy veteran, serving for 12 years.
He loved to vacation at Pigeon Forge, TN, enjoyed country music, and served as a girls and womens softball umpire for 35 years with the United Softball Assn. of America. He was a huge Philadelphia sports fan, being an avid follower of the Eagles and the Phillies.
In addition to his wife, Jimmy, he is survived by his children: David R. Neill , Jr. and Chris Harriman, both of Hampton, VA, Marcia married to Gary Dengler of Reinholds, and Amy Dilley of Wrightsville; his 6 grandchildren Jared, Jared, Emma, Ashley, Ally, and Aaron, and by his sister, Sandy Neill. He was preceded in death by his son in law Michael Dilley and his sister Marlene.
Friends will be received by David’s family on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 2-3PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA with Memorial Service to follow at 3PM. Casual dress is encouraged and David would expect you to wear your best sports jerseys and attire, with a focus on Philadelphia, of course.
