Ronald Hetrick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Menomonie on Feb. 4, 2026.
Ronald (Ron) George Hetrick, age 80, passed away on February 3rd, 2026 at Marshfield Hospital Eau Claire with his children by his side.

Ron was born on December 6th, 1945 in Plum City, WI. He grew up in the Pepin and Plum City WI area. On September 28th, 1968 he married Marjorie James. They started their family in Amery WI, then moved to Knapp, WI before settling in Boyceville, WI.

Ron started out delivering fuel oil before going into construction. The last 31 years before he retired was spent working for Mann Valley Contracting building custom homes.

Ron loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and building things. If his children wanted to learn to do something he was willing to teach them, from building houses to working on cars, he really was a Jack of all trades. He would always go out of his way to help out his farmer friends, always lending a hand when he could. He spent his last years enjoying all his great grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his son, Matthew Hetrick and wife Jody; daughter, Heidi Burton and fiancé Edward; son, Adam Hetrick and partner Abby; 14 grandchildren: Casey, Jake, Brittany, Brieanna, Brooklynn, Carson, Jaxon, Jevyn, Heather, Hannah, Haley, Melissa, Courtney, and Scott; 24 great-grandchildren; six siblings; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; daughter, Laurie Lutz; parents, George and Bernetta Hetrick; parents-in-law, Wesley and Betty James; brothers, Gary and Darrald Hetrick; nephew, Gary Jr.; niece, Jessica; several aunts and uncles; and three great-granddaughters.

No funeral service will be held. A private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
