He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who gave generously of his time and talents to his family, his work, and his community. Ron graduated from Conway High School in 1958 and earned his BA in Business Administration from The Citadel in 1962. He served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1965. Holmes (Bonnie), Brian H. Holmes (Angel), and Stephen R. Holmes; his grandchildren, Parker E. Holmes, Jason A. Holmes, Riley P. Postell, and Chase H. Postell; his brother, Joseph H. Holmes (Lauren). Earlier today

Ron Holmes was one of the good guys of Kilo Company at The Citadel. He was my Platoon Sergeant my plebe year and he was always kind and a person all my classmates admired. As an officer his senior year, he set a high example for us all. I am saddened to learn of his passing but he has been truly promoted to Glory.

Yesterday

My sincere condolences are extended to Brian and the entire family. Ron has always held a special place in my heart because he was so genuine. As an employee of Santee Cooper, he not only took a sincere interest in how you were doing but also your family. He made you feel valued.

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14: 1 - 2

I believe Ron is in the mansion comforted by the fact that he left a legacy of kindness.
