PERSHING – Ronald Jackson, 82, passed away at his home in Pershing, Indiana, surrounded by family the morning of Tuesday October 21st, 2025. The son of the late James Dale and Mary K. (Brey) Jackson, Ron was born on May 27th, 1943, in New Castle, Indiana. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1962.
A journeyman machinist by trade, he worked for Bertch & Co. and retired from Ready Machine Tool & Die in Connersville. Ron was a member of the UAW, Cambridge City Christian Church, former member of the Cambridge City Fire Department and a Scout Master for Troop 6 in Cambridge City. To say Ron was a giving person would be an understatement, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. In his leisure Ron was a die hard I.U. Basketball fan, enjoyed watching the Colts (especially this season) and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Ron is survived by his wife of 62 years, Wilda (Wilkins) Jackson. They were married at the Cambridge City Christian Church on June 14th, 1963. 3 sons, Troy (Mary Jo) Jackson of Cambridge City, Todd Jackson of Tennessee, and Trent (Vanita) Jackson of Milton; 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Carol Ann Jackson who passed in 1942; 2 brothers in-law, Norbert Koerner and Clyde Kelsch; sister in-law, Lavena "Beannie" Buckley.
Visitation for Ron will be from 3 p.m. until the start of a memorial service at 5 p.m. on Saturday October 25, 2025, at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Cliff Nunn to officiate. The family requests casual dress and I.U. attire if you have it. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Henry County Hospice or the Cambridge City Volunteer Fire Department.
