Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Ronald Johnson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend, on August 8, 2025. Ronald left this world peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

Ronald was born on February 26, 1939, in Greensburg, PA, to George and Ann Johnson. He grew up in Pennsylvania and Indiana, where he cultivated a life filled with purpose and remarkable achievements.

Ronald served 21 years in the United States Air Force, was a Vietnam veteran and received many awards for his service. Following his military career, he was a banker in Boise, ID, and then the Chief Property Officer at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development/FHA in Sacramento, CA, with oversight of 24 counties in Northern California. While working for the federal government, he also became a Contracting Officer for the United States of America with unlimited procurement authority. After retiring, he was a successful realtor at Coldwell Banker and later with the family real estate firm – RJ Real Estate Services, Inc. Ronald volunteered for many years at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Mather AFB, CA.

Ronald's personal relationship with and commitment to his faith was rooted in unwavering trust, consistent devotion, and a daily effort to live in alignment with God's teachings. He was a member of the Trustee Board at Kyles Temple A.M.E. Zion Church in Sacramento and was the embodiment of kindness, warmth, acceptance, generosity and dedication to family and friends. He loved to boat, fish, hunt, ski, travel, was an avid reader and a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Ronald's personality was infectious, and he had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued, loved, and appreciated.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Rosa, and a blended family that includes two sons, Ronald Johnson (Jane) and Richard Johnson (Angelo); two daughters, Ronita Giles (Craig) and RoSand Johnson-Parker (Ronald); six grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Jordan Giles (Angel Marie), Jillian Fields (Mitchell) and Tyler Parker (Penina); six great grandchildren; brother Richard Johnson (Rosa); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Terance Parker.

Though Ronald is no longer with us, his love, laughter, and spirit will forever remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. He'll be deeply missed and always lovingly remembered.
