Ronald Kaas Obituary

Today we gather to remember and honor the life of Ronald Peter Kaas-a man whose kindness, faith, and hard work touched countless lives.

Dad was born on July 2, 1953, and throughout his 72 years, he lived a life of quiet strength and unshakable devotion. He gave of himself constantly-not just to his family, but to anyone in need. Many in this community can tell stories of him up on rooftops making repairs, working long hours to fix homes, or building something simply because it might make someone's life a little better.

Service wasn't an obligation for him-it was the way he showed love.

His devotion to his faith was just as steady. No matter what calling he received in the church, he accepted it with humility and gave it everything he had. His dedication, his testimony, and his willingness to serve were a beacon of light for all who knew him.

Beyond his service, Dad found joy in the things he loved-working with his hands in the woodshop, fishing on quiet days, and serving in the Temple. And perhaps most of all, he loved being with his family. His children and grandchildren knew his compassion, his selflessness, and his playful side that came out most when he was surrounded by those he loved.

What many of us will remember most is how he was with his grandchildren. He could be serious when he needed to be, but with them he was goofy, playful, and full of laughter. In those moments, you could see his heart wide open.

To his wife, Renee, he was a devoted partner. To his children-Elizabeth, R. Peter, Samuel, Adam, and Benjamin-he was a steady guide and a constant source of love. To his siblings, cousins, and extended family he was always a source of strength and reliability, sometimes lovingly called "Uncle Pete". And to his grandchildren, he was the grandpa who could make them laugh no matter what.

We will carry forward his example of faith, service, and love. His life was a blessing, and his memory will continue to strengthen and inspire us.
