Ronald Kersten Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Connell Funeral Home - Little Chute on Apr. 14, 2023.
Ron came from a large family and acquired an even larger circle of friends during his lifetime.
Some people change the world by one major contribution and others by the good they put into it every day. Ron was like that.
People could always count on him to help in any way he could. He was affable and calm, a fun-loving presence at family gatherings with his gentle smile and dry sense of humor.
Ron was a proud man with old school values who had a mind of his own on how things should be. His work ethic was one to be studied by others as how you show up, do your best, care for your equipment and co-workers, and be counted on to get the job done.
His mechanical skills were an asset to every facet of his life:
sometimes for our vehicles,
mostly to help family, friends, and neighbors,
often for strangers,
definitely for his employment over the years, but the most fun was using them on the racetrack.
Ron loved his Wolf River Asphalt family the last 12 years; as he was happiest behind the wheel and trading jabs with his work buddies.
We have the deepest respect for the care and guidance from our hospice team. They were thoughtful, thorough, and consistent in ensuring Ron's wishes were at the forefront of his care and every consideration. Their support and instruction offered to us to aid in his daily care, was invaluable and we are firm believers that they are patient-focused angels in scrubs. Our social worker and each nurse were respectful of how he chose to leave this life on his terms; the same way he lived it.
We were blessed to provide the end of his life exactly as he wanted it to be. Ron passed peacefully at home with his beloved animals near him. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral.
