Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Jan. 7, 2026.
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Ronald George King whose life was defined by devotion, courage, and quiet joy. Born on August 23, 1953, in Mandeville, Jamaica, he entered the world with a spirit destined for adventure and a heart made for family. He carried the heart and spirit of his homeland with him wherever life took him, but on December 28, 2025, he departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever live on in the lives he touched.
He was a beloved father to Careen King, whose life was forever shaped by his guidance, warmth, and unwavering support. To her, he was more than a father-he was a protector, a teacher, and a steady presence whose love was constant and unconditional. His pride in her knew no bounds, and his greatest joy was watching her grow and thrive.
He was an adoring grandfather to Gabriel, Jacob, Noah, Madilyn, and Myles. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment that was spent with them. Madilyn held a uniquely special place in his heart, lovingly referred to as his "little angel." His eyes lit up at the sound of their laughter, and his love for them was pure, gentle, and boundless. He was also a loving uncle to his niece Aria and a proud granduncle to his grandniece Freya, both of whom held a special place in his heart.
He was a cherished brother to Dian and Debbie, bound to them not only by blood but by shared memories, laughter, and a lifetime of connection. Their bond was one of loyalty and love, strengthened through the years by mutual respect and deep affection.
He was the son of Venita Gauntlett and the late George King, raised with values that shaped the man he became-strong, kind, and principled. Though his father George preceded him in death, their bond endured, and he carried his parents' lessons with him in every stage of life.
A man loved by his friends, he had a way of making people feel at ease in his presence. His friendships were sincere and lasting, built on trust, humor, and shared experiences. He gave freely of himself, offering wisdom when needed and laughter whenever possible.
Above all else, he was a man who loved deeply and lived authentically. His legacy is one of quiet strength, boundless love, and a life well lived. Though his physical presence is gone, his spirit remains-carried in the hearts of his family, echoed in shared stories, and felt in every moment of remembrance.
He will be profoundly missed and forever loved.
