Ronald Edwin Klingsmith

Ronald Edwin Klingsmith, age 74 of Marceline, died Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center, Marceline. Ronald was born in Kirksville, Missouri on June 16, 1949 to Robert E. and Ruby (Shumaker) Klingsmith. He married Carol Dawn Wayman on August 27, 1971 at Miami, Oklahoma.
Ronald had worked as an x-ray tech at St. Francis Hospital and then as a conductor for BNSF retiring in 2009. He was a member of the BLE and UTU.
He is survived by his wife Carol of the home in Marceline, son Shaun Klingsmith and wife Becky of Green Castle, MO daughter Darcy White and husband Steve of Kansas City, MO, sister Sharen Jones and husband Bob of Kirksville, grandchildren, Justin Klingsmith, Jenna Klingsmith, Ashley Read, Paige Marrs, Whitney Marrs, and Kate, Brett, and Ruby White, great grandchildren, Lucy and Josie Klingsmith, Adysen and Avery Read, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with burial at the family farm near Kirksville at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Friday, March 8, 2024 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Saving Every Victim or Linn County Humane Society and these may be mailed to 1720 N.
