Ron was born February 25, 1947, to Vern and Reva (Boege) Ladehoff in Marshalltown, IA and graduated from Beaman-Conrad High School. He began woodworking at the age of 12, creating all kinds of incredible items for several people and places. Ron enlisted and proudly served his country with the United States Army in the security service. After his time in the service, he was united in marriage to Nancy Kitzman in 1974 and welcomed two sons. The two later divorced but remained friends.

Ron carried a strong work ethic throughout his entire life. He held numerous positions, but his main career path was in HVAC. For many people, Ron was their guy. Helping folks around the clock, every day of the year. Ron was a steward to his community, calling Conrad home since 1968. He was a founding member of the BCERTs and a dedicated member of the Conrad Fire Department. Ron was the certified pool operator for the Conrad Aquatic Center for many years and prided himself on having the warmest and cleanest pool water in the state. While he instilled his hard work ethic in his boys, he also taught how important the down time is, whether it was making memories with family and friends or enjoying Pepsi and dessert.

Ron was a man of many talents and wasn't easy to settle down in retirement. He kept busy with the Fire Department and BCERTs, continued to help people with their AC or furnace, the pool, and any projects he could be a part of. He also enjoyed attending his granddaughter's activities and spending time with his family.

Ron will be missed by his son, Tony (Jennifer) Ladehoff of Prairie City, IA and Brian (Ashley) Ladehoff of Conrad, four granddaughters; Maddy and Lily Ladehoff, and Eden and Tenley Ladehoff, two brothers, Dean (Deb) Ladehoff of North Liberty, IA and Larry Ladehoff of Conrad, and his special friend, Denise Isaacson of Beaman, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
