I always enjoyed interacting with Ron both at work at Utah Valley Hospital or in our ward and stake. Some of the best memories are when he would go as our priesthood leader for the girls camp 4th year overnight backpacking trip. He did this almost every year he served in the Orem Hillcrest Stake Presidency. He was so engaging with the girls and fun to be around. Renee Tueller

On behalf of the Grasslands 5th Branch at the Ashford Assisted Living Center, we want to express our condolences to his friends and family. Ron attended every sacrament meeting until just one or two weeks before he passed. His testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ was genuine. He always had a compliment for everyone and was a joy to be around. May his family find comfort in wonderful memories and in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Loved Ron. We began our careers at Utah Valley at the same time and people often confused our names - it was always an honor to be called "Ron". Together we worked on several hard projects together and Ron was always the even-tempered voice of wisdom, constancy and integrity. He was always able to simplify and diagnose the core issues of a problem. I learned much watching and working with Ron....got a couple of good mountain bike rides in with him also.
Forever grateful,
Rod Lisonbee

Elder Liston always had a smile. I was so nervous when I started serving as an assistant and he and Sister Liston were always there to encourage and guide us. His smile will be missed but his memory will always be here.

I worked with Ron at Utah Valley hospital where I came to respect his leadership and administrative skill. Later we became biking buddies along with some of his friends. Next, we served together in Taiwan where he and Lola were wonderful missionaries. He had a great sense of organization and cheerfully tackled every hard project with poise and determination. All who met him were blessed by his humility, humor, and generosity of spirit. I will be forever grateful to have known him and his family. All great people. My thoughts and prayers are with the Liston family.

To the Ron and Lola Liston Family. It is with sadness that we learned of your Father's passing. He was an amazing person with his ability to make you feel as a friend, a person who cared about you, and his warmth and love were so sincere. We enjoyed our family camping outings, our time as empty nesters, and just being around your wonderful parents. We appreciated our association with the Liston Family and cherished those special family times with you. May our Heavenly Father continue to pour out His love, peace, and memories on each of you. We send our love and prayers. Connie and Bob Parsons

Ron Liston, or as I knew him Elder Liston was a giant of a man. I served with him in the office of the Taiwan Taichung mission. We united in our shared love of road biking. He often would spend late hours with us offering invaluable advice and teaching us lessons he´d learned as he went through his life. He was a dear friend and incredible mentor during the time I got to spend with him in Taiwan!

I attended Springville High School with Ron. Later, my late husband, Dick (Richard) Marchant attended the University of Utah during 1970-72 when all three of us obtained our Masters of Social Worker. Ron was a sweet kind man, a friend to all.
