Ronald Delbert Glen Lynch

On December 27, 2025, our larger-than-life husband, father, grandfather, and friend returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father.

Ron was born on February 21, 1949, to Eugene and Eva Lynch. He grew up in Ogden, Utah, where he developed a deep appreciation for hard work, family, and faith—values that guided him throughout his life.

Ron was very active in his early life, cherishing the long summer days in his family cabin at Bear Lake. He was a key member of the Ogden High School football team, including the 1966 State Championship team. His family and friends have no reason to question his self-proclaimed accolades, including “all-region, all-state, and all-American” because he was already a superstar in their hearts and minds. After high school, Ron played football for Weber State University.

Ron honorably served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ohio. His mission laid the foundation for a lifetime of unwavering faith and service. He possessed a strong and abiding testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and lived it powerfully through his actions, leadership, and love for others.

On March 17, 1972, Ron married the love of his life, Vickie Lynn Smith, in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. Their marriage was sealed for time and all eternity and became a beautiful example of devotion, partnership, and Christlike love. Together they built a home centered on faith, service, laughter, and unconditional support.

Ron decided to pursue a career in the home building industry beginning with Intermountain Precision Built Homes and framing with Randall Construction. He later joined Micott Homes where great friendships were created. With his business partner and lifelong friend, Jeff Shulz, they started SHRON Builders, where he spent every day doing what he loved, interacting with people and building homes. His ability to connect and develop relationships based on trust and loyalty with his many subcontractors and home buyers was the key to his success. His genuine charisma attracted everyone he met and created bonds that lasted through life.

Ron was a devoted father to his children Nikkol (Scott) Perkes, Ronnie (who passed away as an infant), Heather (Brian) Hotchkiss, Miranda (Michael) Rasband, Josh (Yulisa) Lynch, Sabrina (Gage) Charlesworth, and Whitney Lynch. He was a steady presence in their lives—patient, kind, and deeply proud of each of them.

His greatest joy came in his role as Grandpa. Ron was blessed with 25 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, with 3 more eagerly anticipated. He delighted in their achievements, cheered them on in every endeavor, and loved them completely. His legacy of faith, love, and sense for adventure lives on through them.

Ron strived to create a life that allowed his family to connect and share memorable experiences together. He did this by providing many spontaneous and adventurous trips, including many weeklong visits to Lake Powell. He built a dream cabin along the shore of Bear Lake, where he established a fun-loving reputation among his treasured grandchildren and nieces and nephews, who called him Uncle Ronnie with love and adoration. Their favorite experience was being pulled behind his boat on the water tube, where most turns resulted in an empty tube with laughing cousins and grandchildren scattered throughout the water.

Ron served faithfully in many callings throughout his life, including as a Bishop and as a bishopric counselor in a student ward, where he served with the same fun-loving spirit he displayed throughout all his life. His larger-than-life personality was a hit with the youth of the Church, where he had a long-lasting impact on many young lives. Later, he and his beloved wife Vickie served together as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple, a sacred service that reflected their shared testimony of eternal families and temple covenants.

Those who knew Ron will remember his love for his family and faith in Jesus Christ, as well as his passion for life and adventurous spirit. He was a man of devotion, a disciple of Jesus Christ, and a true patriarch whose life testified of the Savior he loved and served.

He was lovingly welcomed by his son, parents, mother-in-law, three brothers (Richard, Jerry, and Paul), and two sisters (Sharon and Anne), who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, children, and younger sisters (Kaye and Terri).

While his passing leaves a tender absence in the hearts of his family, they are comforted by the knowledge of the resurrection and the promise of eternal families. Ron’s life was one of purpose, faith, and love—and his influence will be felt for generations to come.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Muskrat Springs Ward, 5000 S. 5900 W., Hooper, UT 84315. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S. and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
