Ronald Robert Maphey, 77, of Liverpool, NY passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. He was born in Syracuse, NY, the son of the late Robert and Beatrice (Tutei) Maphey. Ronald, earned his associate degree at Corning Community College and continued his studies at Rochester Institute of Technology, receiving his Bachelor's Degree. He became a Certified Public Accountant and was employed as a Tax Manager at Welch Allyn, Skaneateles Falls, NY, CONMED, in Utica, NY and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC.
Ronald was a true-blue SU football and basketball fan, as a season ticket holder for many years he loved tailgating with his family and friends. He was an avid New York Yankees fan too. Ronald enjoyed traveling, golfing and spending the winters in North Myrtle Beach, but most of all he cherished spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Beverly (Maphey) Boyce and brother-in-law, John Patrick Lynn.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Barbara (Lynn) Maphey, daughters, Stephanie (Shannon) Brown and Jessica (Robert) McQuatters, son, Ronald J. Maphey, grandchildren; Sean Brown, Sarah Brown, Sawyer Brown, Hannah McQuatters, Bobby McQuatters and Jacob McQuatters and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 10:00 am in Pope John XXIII Church, 8290 Soule Road, Liverpool, NY 13090.

Ronnie was a childhood friend who grew up with me and attended grammar school at Assumption with me. We learned to ride bikes together, played all sorts of sports together ( wiffle ball, stickball, touch football, basketball, little league , swim at Schiller Park sledding on Curtis St hill) and for more fun helped his dad with his homing pigeons that he kept at his garage on Curtis St. Ronnie was always upbeat, ready for any adventure and always smiling. We kept in contact when he and a number of other guys left for Central Tech for High School . We had great times at Sandy Pond during the college years . We lost touch after that ... something I regret. Ronnie `s uncle Bill and aunt Marion lived next door to us. His uncle always had a pristine Buick which my brothers and I thought we might inherit. His uncle Bill who was known as Willie had the car designated for Ronnie... his favorite. Ronnie is a Hall of Fame member of that special Northside neighborhood we grew up in. He has a seat at the table in the hereafter sharing his great smile and personality. Rest in Peace Ronnie !
