Ronald Marshall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center & Cemetery on Jan. 28, 2026.
Ronald "Little Fella" Marshall, a cherished soul whose generosity and wisdom touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, in his hometown of Evansville, Indiana. Born on July 9, 1944, also in Evansville, Ronald's journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to his family, a passion for the great outdoors, and a love for life's simple pleasures.

Ronald's family was the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter to his son, Roland, and daughter, Marisa (Veron) Garrett. His brother-in-law, whom he considered a son, Anthony Leavell, will remember Ronald's guidance and friendship. His joy was multiplied by his grandchildren: Alisha, Alaina, Alton, AJ, Jackie, Justin, Jeremy, Antessia, and Kantha, as well as his 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense happiness to his life.

His brother, Robert (Marcia) Marshall, and sister, Jackie Coleman, along with his sister-in-law, Sandy Ault, will fondly recall the many cherished moments they shared. Ronald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol, his mother, Constance Cheaney, and his sister, Phyllis Robertson, all of whom he held dear to his heart.

Ronald's professional life was characterized by hard work and dedication. He retired from Alcoa, where he was respected by his colleagues for his integrity and commitment. His involvement in various associations further demonstrated his willingness to engage with and contribute to his community.

A man of many interests, Ronald was known for his love of vacationing, visiting amusement parks, and exploring state and national parks. He was an avid card player, and his motorcycle rides were a testament to his adventurous spirit. Ronald lived by the motto that one should never let the grass grow under their feet, always seeking new experiences and enjoying every moment.

Among his many talents, Ronald's "claim to fame" was his delectable banana pudding, a treat that will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting it. His open-mindedness and ability to connect with people were unparalleled; he never knew a stranger and was always ready to lend an ear. Many will recall how Ronald could listen to your problems and then offer the best advice, a true testament to his selfless nature.

Ronald "Little Fella" Marshall will be remembered as a wise and generous man, whose presence enriched the lives of those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. Ronald's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and the wisdom he shared, and he will be deeply missed by all.
