James J. Wolf

James J. Wolf, 68, of Poseyville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

Jim was born on July 8, 1957, in Evansville to the late Herman J. and Elvira (Spahn) Wolf. Jim worked as a bricklayer and was a member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 4. He was an avid woodworker; enjoyed watching UK basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals, camping and gardening. He also loved to watch Kyle Cummins and Aric Gentry at Tri-State Speedway, even if he complained about going and always blamed Jane for the reason they went.

Surviving Jim are his wife of 25 years, Jane (Schickel) Wolf; a daughter, Mary (Mark) Wolf; stepdaughter, Melissa Winternheimer; granddaughters, Lila and Laina Vollman; three brothers and their wives, David and Anne Wolf, Dan and Deb Wolf and John and Christa Wolf, as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will follow in St. Wendel Church Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 AM until service time on Wednesday at St. Wendel Catholic Church, 10542 W. Boonville New Harmony Road, Evansville, IN 47720.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mater Dei Friends and Alumni, 1300 Harmony Way, Evansville, IN 47720.
