Robert C. Moore Sr.

Robert C. Moore, Sr., age 93, of Evansville, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 5, 2026. He was born on November 5, 1932, in Patoka, Indiana to the late W.P. Moore and Pauline (Steers) Moore.

Robert was a Christian man. He retired from Greyhound Bus Lines after over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Hadi Shrine, and several other charitable organizations.

He is preceded in death by his wife, and childhood sweetheart, Joanna Moore (nee Preston), his second wife, Wilma (Farrar) Moore; children, Robert C Moore Jr., Andrea Moore Ramsey, Michael K Moore, and granddaughters, Shaina and Courtney Moore.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin Pierce Moore and James Moore; and by a sister, Nellie Thorn.

He is survived by a son, Shane Moore; daughter Melissa Moore Compton (Russell Compton); grandchildren, Robert C. Moore, III, Soncerrai Potenciano, Micah Fuqua, Jerrod Fuqua, Jolanna Compton, and Ariel Ramsey, Nicholas Ramsey, and Charles Ramsey Jr.; daughter in law, Linda Moore; son in law, Charles Ramsey; sister, Alice Carey; several nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

According to his wishes, there will not be any public visitation or funeral services. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
