Ronald James McCauley of Middletown, DE, a devoted husband, proud veteran, and distinguished professional, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, in Newark, DE, at the age of 90.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 69 years, Shirley, and a legacy of love, integrity, and lifelong curiosity. Born in Streator, Illinois with a strong sense of duty and determination, Ron answered the call to service in the United States Navy, serving in Washington, DC where he developed the discipline and leadership that shaped the rest of his life. Following his military service, he completed studies in engineering at the University of Maryland and Stevens Institute of Technology and embarked on a successful career as an executive in the financial services industry, making impactful contributions while working in Hartford, CT, Boston, MA, New York, NY, and London, UK. His sharp mind and professional drive earned the respect of colleagues across continents.

Ron was a family man above all else. He is survived by his three children - James McCauley and his wife Patricia (Nagle) McCauley of Dearborn, MI, William McCauley and his wife Lara McCauley of Stewartsville, NJ, and Karen (McCauley) Wrinn and her late husband Gary Wrinn of Middletown, DE - who carry forward his values and warmth; his two grandchildren, Caitlin Wrinn of Middletown, DE and William Wrinn of Middletown, DE, who brought him great joy; and his brother Michael McCauley of Streator, IL and sister Janice (McCauley) Ruddy of Channahon, IL, with whom he shared cherished memories. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces and their families.

After retiring, Ron embraced the pleasures of family life, travel, and books, continuing to explore the world and expand his knowledge with the same passion that defined his career. Whether discussing his profession, interesting destinations, or suspense novels, he brought thoughtful insight and humor to every conversation.

Ron will be remembered for his steadfast love of Shirley, his enduring commitment to family, and his quiet strength that uplifted those around him. His life was one of purpose and adventure - legacies that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
