Bridgette Gosnear Brandon was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 2, 1980, to William A. Gosnear and the late Margaret Woods. Bridgette lived in Philadelphia prior to moving to North Carolina in 1998 where she completed her high school education at South Brunswick High School. In 2002 while living in North Carolina her path crossed with John Brandon, a Wilmington, North Carolina resident... They dated for 3 years before sealing their love on Oak Island in 2005. Shortly after they welcomed their daughter Brandee in 2007 and they became a family of four when son Brian was born 16 months later in November of 2008.
Prior to devoting her time at home to raising Brandee and Brian, Bridgette worked as a pharmacy technician. In 2010, the Brandon family made the move to Delaware to live in what would be their new home.
Bridgette was undoubtedly a unique individual. Growing up skiing in the Poconos, her hobbies seamlessly transitioned into anything for my family's adventures. Bridgette was never discouraged by a challenge, Bridgette possessed an uncanny ability to find solutions, earning her the title of 'queen of resourcefulness.' She enthusiastically participated in camping, fishing, ATV riding, and mud riding. Bridgette's love for English bulldogs cannot go unnoticed, especially for her late English bulldog Maggie who she had just lost in June. Bridgette loved anything that involved creating memories with her children and family. When it was time for the kids to engage in sports, Bridgette undoubtedly became the most supportive football and cheer mom as Brian "Big B" played and Brandee cheered at the M.O.T youth football and cheer league. Bridgette spent an abundant amount of her time for over a decade, dedicated volunteer work during and beyond the season even after the kids had graduated out of the program and went into high school.
The M.O.T. community has lost a shining exemplar of compassion and kindness, whose unwavering dedication has inspired countless individuals. leaving behind a legacy of selflessness and generosity. Over the past decade, Bridgette's integral role in the M.O.T program has left an enduring impact on everyone she touched. Her bright smile and willingness to help are memories that will forever be cherished. Bridgette's behind-the-scenes efforts, securing equipment and managing concessions with effortless dedication, exemplified her commitment to empowering young athletes to reach their full potential. Her profound influence will continue to uplift and motivate the league for years to come.
Upon receipt of the news in April of 2024, Bridgette was fully prepared to tackle the challenge head-on and was given the chance to ring her bell, and the beast was beat. Bridgette kicked off the year with unbridled enthusiasm, only to face an unexpected twist when a neck injury revealed the disease's unwelcome return; yet, buoyed by her innate positivity and strength, she adapted to the new landscape, refusing to miss a beat. Bridgette did not walk this walk alone. Her family and friends were there. Just as she would if the roles were reversed.
Bridgette's enduring impact through her advocacy and donation for the Gift of Life Program will not be forgotten. Although she did not win her last battle, her benevolence enabled someone else to receive aid in theirs. Those who will hold Bridgette's memories dear include her husband John, daughter Brandee, son Brian, stepson Austin, father William and stepmother Adrienne, brother Mark, sister Brittani, granddaughter Kaylee, nephews Mark and Jackson, nieces Lilly and Kamrynn, numerous uncles, aunts, friends, and especially her M.O.T family.
A celebration of life will take place at the M.O.T Football Complex, 213 Silver Lake Rd.,
Middletown, DE 19709 on Saturday, August 9th from 10 am – 12 pm.
