Ronald "Ronnie" Teague McGinty, Sr, 76, of Laurens and husband of Rosie Lee Nelson McGinty, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Prisma Health Laurens County Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born in Laurens on January 8, 1949, he was the son of the late R.T. and Betty Lorraine Campbell McGinty. A proud veteran of the US Navy, Ronnie was employed at 3M/GE and later, owned and operated Carrot Stew Daycare, where he touched the lives of many children and their families. A man of deep faith, Ronnie was a former deacon and member of Second Baptist Church. In recent years, he found a spiritual home at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, where he continued to nurture his relationship with God and his community. Ronnie was a man who never met a stranger. He loved people and cherished the time spent with family and friends. His strong faith and love for God were evident in every aspect of his life, serving as a guiding light for those who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ron McGinty (Beth) of Chapin, Will McGinty (Wendy) of Blythewood, and Lori Pontoon (Willie) of Laurens; grandchildren, Peyton and Ethan Brown, Jack, Wil, and Elle Monroe, Will, Olivia, and Jack Pontoon; a great grandchild, Jonathan Epting; and siblings, Stan McGinty (Rhonda) and Jeff McGinty.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Rita Parris; and a twin brother Donnie McGinty.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM following the visitation on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Rhett Wilson and Rev. Alex D. Henderson, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors.
